The Senate president, Bukola Saraki, on Wednesday, November 8, paid his last respect to the wife of the senator representing Gombe Central, Danjuma Goje.
Saraki was at the funeral of late Hajia Yelwa Goje alongside other dignitaries including the minister of education, Adamu Adamu, the governor of Gombe state, Ibrahim Dankwambo, among many others.
Saraki in a tweet prayed for the repose of the soul of the late senator's wife.
He said: "Today, we paid our final respects to the late Hajia Yelwa Goje, wife of my friend and colleague, Senator Danjuma Goje. May the Almighty grant her Al Jannah Firdaus, and give her family strength at this time. Amin."
Also, President Muhammadu Buhari commiserating with the senator and his family sent a delegation of federal government officials to Gombe state.
The dignitaries attended the funeral with a letter from the president to the Goje's family.
In his letter, President Buhari described the late Hajiya Yelwa as a kind and caring mother.
NAIJ.com earlier reported that some dignitaries visited Senator Goje in Gombe state on Tuesday, October 31.
The dignitaries condoled with the senator over the loss of his wife.
Hajiya Yelwa, a former first lady of Gombe state, died on Monday, October 30, after a brief illness. She was aged 55.
