On Tuesday, November 14, President Buhari tweeted via his official handle: "I thank the people of the Southeast for the enthusiastic welcome they've accorded me since I arrived this morning. From Enugu to Abakaliki, I have enjoyed a profuse display of warmth from everyone; political leaders, traditional leaders, citizens. I thank you all."
This was following recent visit to some states in the southeast of Nigeria, including Ebonyi and Enugu.
The president also tweeted:
The news of his chieftancy titles led to a deluge of tweets as many compared the recent agitation for secession with the welcome he received in the states and his reasons for visiting the zone.

It was earlier reported that Chief John Nnia Nwodo who is the president-general of the Ohaneze Ndigbo has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to look into the infrastructural decay of the south east.
NAIJ.com had reported that the president was in Ebonyi state for a two-day visit to the south east. It was reported that Nwodo addressed the president calling his attention to the state of work on the Second Niger Bridge.
