It was a galore of jubilation as the Peoples Democratic Party was on Saturday, November 18, declared winner of the Anambra governorship election at Amatutu polling unit, Agulu 2, located just in front of the home of the former governor, Peter Obi.
Punch reports that the presiding officer announced the result as follows; APC; five votes, APGA 40 votes, UPP; one vote, PDC; two votes, while PDP secured a whooping 145 votes from the polling unit.
NAIJ.com gathered that the voters in the unit, consisting mainly of women erupted in wild jubilation over the result upon its announcement.
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that the voting ended in polling centres across the state. Ballot casting had been scheduled to stop at 2pm at all the centres. Although some ended much later, ballot counting is now on.
