The governor of Abia state, Okezie Ikpeazu, has thrown his weight behind a former governor of Ogun state, Gbenga Daniel, the national chairmanship tussle of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Ikpeazu said he aligns himself to the model and plan of the former governor for the PDP.

"I need not be convince of your ability. I know you as a distribalised Nigerian who has the capacity to lead the PDP right.
"I align myself with your focus and paradigm," Ikpeazu added.
Appreciating Ikpeazu for his commendation, Daniel said he was encouraged by the warm reception given to him in Abia state.
He said: "I must thank you most sincerely for this wonderful reception at such a short notice. I thank you for the confidence you have reposed in me and I promise not to disappoint."
Daniel after meeting with Governor Ikpeazu, proceeded to Onitsha, Anambra state where he joined former president, Goodluck Jonathan to hand over the PDP's flag to Oseloka Obaze for the state's governorship election.
