A former governor of Jigawa state, Sule Lamido, has slammed the senior special assistant to the president on media and publicity, Garba Shehu.

Lamidio through the coordinator of his campaign organization, National Volunteers for Lamido, Umar Hadeja, accused Shehu of deliberately choosing to feed the public with falsehood and obvious inaccuracies.

Hadeja on Monday, in a statement said, the presidential spokesperson exhibits "quackery whenever he ventures into the laborious attempts at rebuttals or rejoinders, more often, with scant regard for the truth."

He said: "We fully grant Garba all the merited, and unmerited, latitude to engage in all manner of propaganda and image laundering for his paymasters."

"He is surely at liberty to engage in leprous acrobatics if and when he elects. He has, in the line of a duty he clearly does not understand, chosen to feed the public with falsehood and obvious inaccuracies, deliberate misinformation, and even mischief bordering on denial and selective amnesia," Hadeja said.

He said Garba's attempt to respond to Lamido's recent interview is a 'classic' example of the public relations disaster and liability he represents.

"Surely, we would care less for this misfortune of an appointee of Mr. President who is fishing and scavenging desperately for “stuff” that would make him look useful in a job he clearly does not know how to do," Hadeja added.

NAIJ.com earlier reported that the presidency had reacted to Lamido's attack on President Muhammadu Buhari's anti-corruption fight.

The presidency through Shehu said there was a plan by politicians seeking the destruction of national institutions such as the courts, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and everything good that the nation stands for.

Shehu said: “It is only in Nigeria that a leader will divert money belonging to the public into his children’s account then turns round to start pontificating on public morals, in the process subjecting the nation’s honest leadership to daily attacks based on falsehood."
