According to a post on his Facebook page by the award-winning investigative reporter. he revealed that it is not the first time he would be facing such a challenge with airlines, but he is angry that the officials who took his complaint told him nothing positive would result from it.

He said: “I am sad, terribly sad. My Nikon AF-S DX Nikkor 18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR camera was stolen yesterday (Monday, November 20) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, by one of the airport workers who moved checked-in luggage from an Ethiopian Airlines flight that arrived Abuja from Johannesburg via Addis Ababa around noon.

“This thief forced my bag open, picked out the camera - a very expensive camera that I saved hard to buy from my strenuous seven-days-a-week job.

“He stole from my sweat but left the pouch, battery and manual for me. Karma will surely locate him and his household!

“But that’s just the secondary reason I am sad.

“The primary reason is that a NAHCO official who received my complaint form, alongside an insouciant Ethiopian Airlines official, first blithely told me that ‘nothing will come out of your complaint’, before adding: ‘And there is nothing you can do about it!’.

“You see how the common man is suffering in this country?

“Well, let someone in the corporate affairs department of Ethiopian Airlines listen: I will not let this slide.
