Atiku Abubakar condemns Mubi bomb attack

- Former vice president Abubakar, condemned an attack at a mosque in Mubi, Adamawa state

- The former vice president said terrorists are representatives of dark and evil forces

- He, however, called on the people living in the northeast Nigeria to be vigilant

Former vice president Atiku Abubakar, has condemned the bomb attack at a mosque in Mubi, Adamawa state, which killed no fewer than 50 people and injured several others.

According to a report, Abubakar who described the attack as “a heart-rending crime against human liberty” called on the people living in the north east Nigeria to be vigilant.

The Wazirin Adamawa, in a press statement by his media office, is quoted to have received news of the Mubi attack with sadness.

The former vice president asked relevant government authorities to provide succour to the bereaved families and give adequate healthcare provision to the wounded victims of the attack.

He said: ''For a community that is healing and rebuilding after severe devastation by terrorists in recent past, a yet another bomb attack that claims scores of human lives is an attack on humanity and the liberty that it guarantees.

''Terrorists seek to instil fears, but through our collective courage and determination we shall triumph. We must ensure that liberty trumps fears and domination.

''By being vigilant and through a collaborative team spirit between the civic public and the security apparatus, we must fight for liberty.

''We are all soldiers of liberty. Our strength lies in the fact that we fight for a good cause and we shall fight together till we are safe.

''Terrorists are representatives of dark and evil forces. Parents and guardians must ensure that their children and wards do not get enlisted by these criminal agents of darkness.’’

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that President Buhari condemned the Boko Haram terrorist attack and described it as “very cruel and dastardly.”

According to a statement issued by Garba Shehu on Tuesday, November 21, the president commiserated with the people of the state and assured them that the government would not relent in its fight against terror.
