- The Nigerian troops were on fighting patrol when they came across some Boko Haram members
- The clash that occurred between the troops and the insurgents resulted in the death of four of the terrorists

The Nigerian army has announced it recorded a major success in the fight against insurgents troubling the north-eastern part of Nigeria as its men clashed with some terrorists.
According to Brigadier General Sani Kukasheka Usman, director of army public relations, four of the terrorists were killed in the clash and their weapons were recovered.
A statement from Usman obtained by NAIJ.com stated: “Troops of Sector 1, Operation Lafiya Dole, deployed at Miyanti while on fighting patrol along Miyanti-Darel Jamel encountered a group of Boko Haram terrorists on Monday 4th December, 2017.
“The troops engaged the terrorists and neutralized four of them. The troops recovered weapons, machetes, knives and cash sum of N5,500.00 from the terrorists.”
NAIJ.com earlier reported that days after attacking a major base of the Boko Haram sect in Bogumeri area of Borno state, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) released footage of the successful operation.
A statement signed by Air Vice Marshal Olatokunbo Adesanya, the director of the organisations public relation and information, said the success was in furtherance of Operation Lafiya Dole.

"The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), on 24 November 2017, successfully neutralized a large gathering of Boko Haram Terrorists (BHT) in Bogumeri, Borno state.
“A NAF platform, while on routine Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), had previously discovered the large gathering of the BHTs in the area, which was known to have significant BHT presence," the statement read.
