Premier League club Manchester City have suffered their first ever defeat this season and it came in the Champions League after losing 1-2 to Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk.
Manchester City went into the game with relaxed minds considering the fact that they have already qualified for the next round of the Champions League.
But their hosts took the match with all seriousness as only a win will secure their passage to the next round regardless the other Group F result between Napoli and Feyenoord.
Shakhtar Donetsk started the match aggressive and it took them 26th minute to get the breakthrough when Marlos created a superb chance for Caldeira Bernand to score.
Marlos also masterminded what resulted to the second goal for the hosts as his clever cross met Dos Santos Ismaily who wasted no time to beat City goalie Moraes in the 32nd minute.
The Ukrainian side tried to score more goals in the second half, but Pep Guardiola's men refused to give any chance as they struggled to score.
Manchester City eventually got their consolation via a penalty at the death, and it was Sergio Aguero who converted it as the match ended 2-1 in favor of Shakhtar.
Shakhtar Donetsk have now qualified for the Champions League round of 16, but they finished behind Group F leaders Manchester City.
