JUST IN: NYSC launches job portal to create opportunities for Corps members

- He urges corps members to make use of the portal to access job opportunities

In a bid to reduce the rate of unemployment in the country, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has launched a job portal for corps members.

Brigadier General Sulaiman Kazaure, the director general of NYSC, announced this today, December 8 at the official launch of the portal in Lagos.

In a statement made available on the agency’s official Facebook page, the NYSC DG implored all corps members to make use of the portal to get job opportunities.

The job portal, according to the statement, would also serve as a platform for employers to search for suitable candidates and provide a means of verifying candidates’ credentials.

The DG said NYSC’s management has also created Zonal lntegrated Skill Centres in six different locations across the country to encourage entrepreneurship among Corps Members.

NYSC Lagos state coordinator, Prince Mohammed Momoh, said the job portal initiative would help corps members in getting access to more job opportunities.

Mrs Omomene Odike, the Managing Director, Gr8jobs Limited, also urged corps members to upload their data on relevant job portals.

Legit.ng previously reported that Kazaure warned corps members against engaging in night parties in their areas of posting.

Kazaure advised corps members to key into the Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development policy of the agency.
