Another aspirant for the national chairmanship position of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jimi Agbaje, has withdrawn from the race.
NAIJ.com gathered that the former governorship candidate of the PDP, in Lagos state, made the announcement on his Twitter handle, @Jimiagbaje, on Saturday, December 9, few hours before the commencement of the national convention.
Agbaje said he painfully decided to withdraw from the race hoping that others will join him in bringing down the number such that the South-West can have a fighting chance of clinching the national chairmanship of the PDP.
The former Lagos state PDP governorship candidate, enjoined more aspirants from the South-West to pull out of the race in the interest of the zone.
NAIJ.com previously reported that Chief Olabode George, one of the chairmanship aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has announced his withdrawal from the race, The Cable reports.

George who announced his decision to step down at a press conference in Abuja said he did not withdraw for any candidate.
The former Deputy National Chairman of the PDP on Friday, December 8, said he was withdrawing from the race on a matter of principle.
