- N-Power, the federal government empowerment scheme has warned applicants against bribe
- The scheme announced that any candidate caught making payment will be disqualified
- It urged the applicants to challenge anybody asking for money and report them on its channels
N-Power, the federal government job programme aimed at empowering graduates, on Saturday, December 9, warned applicants successfully pre-selected to undergo physical verification not to pay anybody for the screening.
The scheme on its official Facebook page said: ''The physical verification stage is free. If you pay, you will be automatically disqualified.''
News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that it also warned applicants to be careful in dealing with persons requesting money for the screening.
According to it, ''Some of those asking you to pay are testing you.’’
The ongoing physical screening for 2017 successfully pre-selected applicants commenced on December 4 and will close on 14.
Physical verification stage is the process of physically verifying the age, gender, residential address and local government, academic qualification, and NYSC completion of applicants.

N-Power said: ''No matter who anyone says they are or whatever they say to you, do not pay anyone a single kobo for physical verification.
“You have a right to challenge such a person and report them on any of our channels immediately.''
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that some beneficiaries of the scheme on Saturday, December 9, in Abuja urged the federal government to pay them their monthly stipends.
Some of the beneficiaries said they have not been paid their October and November stipends.
Chika Nwokedi, an N-teach beneficiary, who teaches at the government secondary school, Garki said it was becoming increasingly difficult to take care of her family needs.
