The operatives of IGP Intelligence Response Team IRT deployed by Ibrahim Idris has arrested five suspected kidnappers terrorising Aba, in Abia state.
The leadership reports that the suspects are 29-year-old Samuel Chikaodi James AKA Chiboy, 23-year-old justice Iriah AKA Mopol, 22 year-old Ikechukwu Igwebuike AKA, 30 -year-old, Chikachi Ubani and 45 year-old Chineye Mark.
NAIJ.com gathered that the exhibits recovered include AK47 Rifle, magazine/ammunitions, the operational vehicle, one Lexus 300 jeep, and a Toyota Sienna bus.
According to the statement signed by the police public relations officer Jimoh Moshood, the arrest was made after the suspected kidnapper abducted one 80-year-old Chief Felix Ogbonna on November 11.
Moshood said the operatives swung into action and eventually arrested the five gang members of the kidnap syndicate after Ogbonna was released.

He said the kidnappers confessed to have started their Kidnapping operations in November 2017.
According to him, they have been involved in three kidnappings in Aba, Abia state collected ransoms of N250, 000, N1 million and N5.5million naira equivalent in dollars respectively.
The suspects confessed to random kidnapping based on the nature of the vehicle being driven by their targets.
