As for Nollywood actor Desmond Elliot giving gifts to people might be his tradition. The actor turned politician went to town dressed up in a Santa Claus outfit to give out gifts to people in Surulere area of Lagos state.
Elliot who called himself Santa Doe as he handed out gifts to people shared photos of the historic event on social media. He shared videos and photos on his Instagram page describing the gift giving process.

The actor turned politician was born to a Yoruba father and an Igbo mother. Elliot’s rise in the movie industry began after a friend advised him to become an actor. He began with playing roles in soap operas.
In 2008 Elliot co-produced and co-directed the movie "Reloaded" which received 3 nominations at the African Movie Academy Awards in 2009. He also became an ambassador for a volunteer-based non-profit, non-religious, non-political project established to give hope to the hopeless.
