Allegations of theft at Murtala Muhammed Airport are baseless - FAAN

- The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has described allegations leveled by Tiwa Savage, of theft at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, as baseless and practically impossible

- Savage alleged that her bag had been stolen from the private jet she had boarded from Uyo, as the aircraft taxied on the runway

- While debunking the allegations, FAAN assured Nigerians that it was practically impossible for an aircraft to be burgled within its runways and aprons

Allegations of theft at the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos, have been debunked by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, Premium Times reports.

The denial comes following allegations of poaching of aircraft and stealing of baggage, which were leveled by singing sensation, Tiwa Savage.

Legit.ng gathers that a private jet purportedly conveying Savage and another superstar, Wizkid, from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom state capital, was allegedly attacked and robbed while taxiing on the runway at the Lagos airport.

According to reports, the pilot of the aircraft had discovered that two bags belonging to Savage and Wizkid had allegedly been stolen, as they arrived at Quits Aviation Center, a private jet hangar.

Savage immediately took to social media to vent over the situation.

However, FAAN has described the allegations as baseless and practically impossible.

FAAN also responded to another incident of theft involving a jet arriving from the Turkish capital, Istanbul.

In a statement released on Wednesday evening, December 27, the FAAN spokesperson, Henrietta Yakubu, stated: “The purported victims in the said cases also did not make themselves available for questioning, in the quest to unravel the case.

“Although investigations are still on going, FAAN will like to reassure travellers and the general public that with the level of safety and security systems on ground at the airports, it is practically impossible for an aircraft to be burgled within our runways and aprons.”
