- Eden Hazard named Belgian footballer of the year by fans
- He finished ahead of Kevin De Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku
- The Chelsea man made five appearances for Belgium in 2017
Chelsea's Eden Hazard has been named the Devil of the Year for his performances for Belgium in 2017.
Manchester City's talisman Kevin De Bruyne may be stealing the headlines in the Premier League but fans feel Hazard was the key player for his nation in 2017.
De Bruyne has been key for Premier League's runaway leaders Manchester City this season, scoring six goals and setting up another nine in 21 games.
However Belgium fans believe Hazard enjoyed the better year on the international stage, as they cruised to World Cup qualification.
Hazard only made five appearances for Belgium in 2017, as opposed to De Bruyne's eight, although the Chelsea star scored three times and assisted twice in those games.
Hazard claimed 10,280 votes, more than double the 4,710 that De Bruyne amassed, with Romelu Lukaku rounding off the top three with 3,223 entries.
Belgium are also known as the Red Devils on the international stage.
