- Spanish newspapers report Philippe Coutinho's move to Barcelona is imminent
- The Brazilian could complete a £133 million deal from Liverpool in the January window
- Coutinho's arrival at the Nou Camp could spell the end for veteran Andres Iniesta
Barcelona legend and captain Andres Iniesta could be ready to quit the Catalonia outfit if Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho arrives from Liverpool in January according to reports.
The La Liga leaders appear to be nearing a deal to sign Liverpool star Coutinho, with the Brazilian their top transfer target for the January window.
The player missed Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Burnley on Monday, January 1, with some reports suggesting Jurgen Klopp had lied about the playmaker being injured.
Barcelona are hellbent on securing Coutinho’s signature and any Liverpool transfer deal would likely force Iniesta down the pecking order.
And with the 2018 World Cup on the horizon, Spanish website Diario Gol say Iniesta could depart in order to boost his chances of making the Spain squad.
The 33-year-old has helped his country win two European Championships and one World Cup in the last decade.

Iniesta’s deal for life sounds like a contract that keeps him at the club indefinitely but in practice it was always more a compromise struck in October to silence talk about whether he was in his last season.
Barcelona have been in pursuit of Coutinho all summer and could be done as kit sponsor Nike over the weekend hinted Barcelona had signed Coutinho but later deleted the post.
