- The Portuguese manager hope to get the new players by January
Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, have ordered scouts to get him two defenders and an attacking midfielder in this January transfer window.
The Portuguese manager had previously blamed the 15-point gap between his side and Premier League leaders Manchester City on a lack of spending at Old Trafford – despite a £260m spree.
And he has told scouts at his disposals to land him two full-backs and a playmaker to be in place before February, according to the Mail.
Despite having £31.5m left-back Luke Shaw fit again, £12.6m right-back Matteo Darmian on the bench and versatile big-money stars Victor Lindelof, Marcos Rojo and Ashley Young prepared to fill-in, Mourinho wants new signings.
And midfield maestros Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan do not seem to have convinced Mourinho of their skills in the hole.
The Special One allegedly risks a row with Manchester United chiefs if he continues to criticise their methods publicly.
The United executives expect the outspoken star to slam referees and rival mangers in the media but not them.

And he more or less demanded instant improvements in his last interview after the Everton draw.
Mourinho said: “I don't know about transfers.
"In this moment we are in trouble, in two to three weeks’ time maybe we recover and we breathe in a different way, can we improve now or do we wait until the summer? I cannot say.
“If somebody comes, welcome. If nobody comes, we are going to fight with the players we have.”
NAIJ.com previously reported that Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, seems to have identified his top transfer target for the winter transfer window - but has been told he cannot sign him by the Red devils chief Ed Woodward.
Mourinho admitted after the win over Everton that he may be forced into the transfer market this month.
