- Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte, has bemoaned the transfer activities at Chelsea
- He said he does not get the kind of players he wants
- Conte made the revelation following his side 2 - 2 draw to Arsenal
Chelsea gaffer, Antonio Conte, has delivered a huge verdict of Chelsea’s transfer business by claiming that he rarely get the kind of players he asked for.
Conte, 48, is believed to be on the hunt for new signings this month after falling well behind Manchester City in the title race.
Reports however claimed that Conte has been far from impressed with Chelsea’s dealings since his arrival in the summer of 2016.
Chelsea hierarchies are responsible for bringing players in, meaning all Conte can do is give his opinion and cross his fingers.
Though it appears those handling the transfer business of Chelsea are not doing enough in the Italian’s eyes.
Speaking after Chelsea 2-2 draw with Arsenal on Wednesday night, January 3, Conte revealed he had very little confidence in landing any of his top targets.
And the Italian manager went a step further by claiming Chelsea run an “austerity programme”, preventing him from realising his squad’s full potential.
Conte told Sky Sports Italia: “I do not aim high with my requests, especially as in my history I’ve rarely been given the players I asked for. I always ended up at clubs who were running an austerity programme.

“I just try to do my work. If someone arrives, good. If they don’t, then that’s fine too. I have to continue my work either way.
He then added: “[The Italy job?] This is not the moment to talk about it, otherwise it would only cause misunderstandings and this is the last thing I want to do.”
NAIJ.com previously reported that Arsenal and Chelsea played out a potential game of the season contender at the Emirates on Wednesday, January 3, in a pulsating contest that ended 2-2.
Arsene Wenger's men equalized right at the dead to salvage one point in a fiesty London derby on a wet Wednesday night.
Arsenal started the game brightly and should have taken the lead in the first half but brilliant display in goal from the Blues goalkeeper kept the game at 0-0.
