Nigerian youngster Xavier Amaechi has signed his first professional contract with Premier League club Arsenal.
The winger celebrated his 17th birthday in great fashion on Saturday, January 6 putting pen to paper on a deal that could tie him to the Gunners for up to four years.
Amaechi joined the North London club in August 2013 at the age of 12 and has made swift progress through the ranks.
The player who is a left-footed winger blessed with searing pace is considered the best player in his age group at the Hale End and has already featured for the Under-23 side in Premier League 2 action.
A statement on the official Arsenal website said: “We would like to congratulate Xavier on his new contract and look forward to his continued progress at the club.”

Gunners took to their official Twitter to announce the signing of Mavropanos by uploading the youngster photo with a caption " Welcome to Arsenal, Konstantinos " .
The 20 year-old center-back arrives from Greece Super League side PAS Giannina, where he has made 16 Greek Super League appearances after breaking into the first team last season.
