After selling Brazilian star Philippe Coutinho to Spanish side Barcelona, Liverpool are now reportedly eyeing a mega move for Leicester City winger Rihad Mahrez.
According to the report by beIN Sports, Liverpool want the Algerian international to replace Philippe Coutinho at Anfield this month and could have his medical on Sunday, January 7.
Mahrez has been in sensational form for Leicester this season scoring seven goals and providing 10 assists.
But Liverpool will only cough out the sum of £48 million for the Algerian out of the £142 million they got from the transfer of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona.
Premier League champions Chelsea are also interested in the signing of Leicester City winger Rihad Mahrez.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Chelsea coach Antonio Conte wants to bolster his squad in the second round of the season, and the Italian is said to have identified Mahrez as his target.
Recently, the Algerian international has been linked with a move to many clubs in the 2018 January transfer window with Liverpool also said to be interested.
