Governor Abdul’Aziz Yari Abubakar of Zamfara state has reshuffled his cabinet.
The Sun reports that the governor effected the changes on Monday, January 8.
He explained that the reshuffling was carried out to reposition the government for better service delivery.
In a statement by Prof. Abdullahi Muhammad Shinkafi who is the secretary to the government of the federation, he said the changes were with immediate effect.
He explained that while some of the commissioners swapped their positions, others moved to new ministries while a few retained their positions.
According to the statement, “former water resources commissioner, Alhaji Sanda Muhammad Danjari is the new information, culture and tourism commissioner swapping with Alhaji Umar Jibo Bukkuyum who is now redeployed to water resources.
“Former commissioner for rural and community development, Alhaji Lawal M. Liman is the new commissioner for health and the former commissioner, Alhaji Sule Adamu Gummi is moved to the ministry of lands and survey as the new commissioner while Alhaji Idris Muhammad Keta is the new commissioner for rural and community development having moved from ministry of environment."
Meanwhile, Senate president Bukola Saraki, while reacting to the killings and arson that took place in Shinkafi local government area of Zamfara state, said the country’s security structure has collapsed, The Cable reports.
