- The ruling APC has been subjected to intense criticisms by Nigerians in the last few weeks
- Nigeria's main opposition party, the PDP, says the lies of the APC are becoming obvious
- This was the position of the PDP's national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) national publicity secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan, says the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is currently haunted by the lies it sold to Nigerians.
Ologbondiyan made the comment earlier today, Tuesday, January 9, when he appeared as a guest on a Channels Television programme.
The Kogi-born veteran journalist turned politician, stated that the current government and its party is all about propaganda and nothing more.
His words: “All the lies APC sold to Nigerians is haunting them.
“We are telling Nigerians that this government is lying, this government and its party is about propaganda and nothing more.
“As we speak now there is no direction – on this issue of subsidy they campaigned that subsidy is evil and Nigerians bought into that lie but as we speak today the federal government is paying subsidy and they have not come out clean on the deals happening in the oil sector. The whole process deceptive
“What was the price of a litre of petrol when PDP was in power N70:50K and in two and half years Nigerians are buying at exorbitant prices of N250, N400 per litre?
“The economy where people are almost dying because of hunger, where the purchasing power have become so ridiculously low that people cannot pay rent, fuel their cars? How do you explain that?"
He refuted the notion that the PDP has nothing to show for its 16 years in power, even as he begged Nigerians to give his party another chance because they have learnt their lesson.
Meanwhile, Ya’u Umar Gojo-Gojo, a former speaker of the Katsina state House of Assembly and the Katsina North senatorial district candidate of the PDP in the 2015 general election, has declared that the opposition party cannot defeat President Buhari in 2019.
Gojo-Gojo, who has now defected to the APC, says the quest by the PDP to reclaim the presidential and Katsina state’s governorship seats are misplaced hope.
