- Arsenal speedster, Theo Walcott is targeting a loan move to Southampton to secure a World Cup place with England
- Southampton is eager to land their former player Walcott to boost their ranks upfront
- Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger is hopeful Walcott stays with the Gunners
Arsenal speedster, Theo Walcott, is definitely not having enough playing time to showoff the kind of talents he believes he possess, and he is seeking a loan move to Southampton to reignite any chance of making it to the England World Cup squad.
The speedy forward has fallen down the pecking order at the Arsenal and has appeared only 15 times this season, nine being cup games.
His current contract with the Gunners runs out this summer but manager Arsene Wenger has shown significant interest to keep the club's longest serving player.
Walcott's former club Southampton alongside Everton are keen on bringing him in this window following his lack of gametime at the Emirates.

But Wenger who confirmed Southampton's interest before his side crashed out of the FA Cup thanks to a 4- 2 to Nottingham Forest, in which Walcott played said: "I want him to stay. I heard about Southampton's interest but I want him to stay."
Walcott, 28, has scored eight times in 47 games for England since bursting on the scene as a teenager and he believes he is still good enough to play for a top six team and would favour a temporary move back to Saints to enhance his chances with the national side, according to Goal.
And under-fire Southampton boss Mauricio Pellegrino has suggested that Wallcott will indeed boost his attacking options.
Pellegrino, whose team are in 17th place in the Premier League, said: "I have been talking about him.
"He is a good player, but I don't know with the negotiations, with the market, I imagine that this type of player would have a lot of possibility. For us it's not easy.
"Hopefully we can bring somebody that can help us be stronger. This is our target now. We know the market is difficult, but we are working on that."
