- Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe has finally come out to speak on the controversy surrounding one of the dresses she wore for her birthday shoot
- Accroding to the actress, she had no knowledge the dress was meant for someone else
- She said this in a recent post on her Instagram page
Earlier on, NAIJ.com reported the news of how an angry bride took to the social media platform to call out a designer for giving out her supposed wedding dress to Nollywood actress Mercy Aigbe for a birthday photo shoot.
After days of the issue dragging on the internet, the fashion designer in question identified as Maryam took to her Instagram page to address the issue. According to her post in which she apologized to both Mercy and the bride, she blamed the whole issue on a dispatch error.
Her apology, however, did not stop people from dragging the actress into the mess accusing her of knowingly using a bride's dress for her own selfish reasons. The beautiful actress has finally come to speak on the matter which has placed her in a bad light since her birthday celebration.
In her recent Instagram post, she wrote: "I have followed events as they unfold following a particular dress I wore for a photoshoot. First, I must say that I sincerely sympathise with the bride as this situation is painful, unfortunate and regrettably avoidable. I hired and paid Seun @styledbyseun for the photoshoot as a stylist and got four dresses for the shoot. Seun and I were unaware that one of the dresses was meant for someone else.
s events leading to this moment. It is also painful that a bride is made to go through what the bride has been made to go through. I have reached out to both the stylist and designer (whom I have never met nor HIRED directly) to express my displeasure. I have instructed my lawyer to look into this and see how best to approach this from a legal point of view without festering an already open wound. Thanks.
