Frenchman Francis Coquelin has reportedly agreed a four-and-a-half year deal to sign for Spanish club Valencia during the ongoing January transfer.

His agreement to join the La Liga side means that the hopes of West Ham United to sign the player are over this month.

According to the report by French news outlet RMC Sport, negotiations between the Gunners and the Spanish club will be finalized within the next 24 hours.

Coquelin has recently found regular playing time difficult at the Emirates Stadium, and he was said to be livid with the club's decision not to have included him in the Gunners' trip to Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup.

The 26-year-old is no longer a regular starter in North London and is desperate for more match action.

Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Premier League side Arsenal were sent out of the 2018 English FA Cup by Lower League side Nottingham Forest who defeated the Gunners 4-2 in the third round.

Arsenal who are the FA Cup holders have now failed to defend the title they won last season after losing to more determined side Nottingham Forest.

Nottingham Forest scored their first goal in the 20th minute through defender Eric Lichaj who gained from Arsenal's defensive gaffe.
