Nigerian singer Abolore Akande popularly known by his stage name 9ice has shared a photo of his new tattoo. The singer explained that he got the tattoo to remind him of his pain and rewards while he was in secondary school.
The 38-year-old singer who also shared a video of himself while he was getting the tattoo stated that the six lines of his new tattoo represents his six memorable years at Abule Okuta Primary School in Bariga, Lagos state.
9ice revealed that each of the lines represents a year of his pain and gain with his progress and understanding of life. He said: “Laiye ojo si olowo lon kola igba ode yii tattoo dowun ara Oun toje tiwa Ko mama lafiwe araba tun ra mu odo ngba arere.... Aye yii ole omo eda adamo losole aye do gun.. The 6 Lines represent my 6 most memorable years at Abule okuta primary school bariga Lagos. Each line represents a year. The thickness represent my pain my gain my progress and my understanding of life.”
Some of the Alapomeji singer’s followers on Instagram hailed him for using a tattoo to represent his past while others expressed their displeasure about the tattoo.
The singer’s ex-wife Toni Payne also had something to say about the tattoo. She said: “Oluwa oooo! This guy no dey hear word.”
