Nigeria police parade criminal gangs terrorising Abuja-Suleja-Bida-Minna highways

- The Nigeria Police Force is keeping its promise of ridding the nation's highways of criminals

- The NPF has paraded some criminal elements that have been causing havoc for sometime

- The gangs have been terrorising Nigerians on the Abuja-Suleja-Bida-Minna highways

The Nigeria Police Force’ commitment to ensure adequate protection, safety and security of lives and properties of travellers and communities on Abuja-Suleja-Bida-Minna highways has yielded positive results.

The Special Tactical Squad attached to Operation Absolute Sanity, arrested some gangs responsible for several kidnappings/armed robbery, cattle rustling and car snatching along the Abuja-Suleja-Bida-Minna highway.

Legit.ng gathered that most of the suspects were arrested in the act after exchange of gun fire with the personnel of the IGP Special Tactical Squad attached to Operation Absolute Sanity in their hideouts along Abuja-Minna road.

Three victims of the gangs were also rescued from their captivities and have since been reunited with their families.

According to police spokesman, CP Jimoh Moshood, the suspects confessed and admitted the various criminal roles they played in the committing of the crimes.

Investigation is however ongoing to arrest other members of the gangs at large as those in police custody will be arraigned in court for prosecution on completion of investigation.

The police called on members of the public that their vehicles were snatched or removed from where parked to go to Niger state police command headquarters for identification and collection.

2nd Gang – Kidnapping/Armed Robbery and Cattle Rustling Gang

  1. Abdulahi Ibrahim a.k.a KB ‘M’ Aged 35Yrs – Gang Leader
  2. Garuba Haruna ‘M’ Aged 37Yrs
  3. Shehu Abdullahi ‘M’ Aged 29Yrs
  4. Hudu Yahaha ‘M’ Aged 30Yrs

3rd Gang – Trans-border/Armed Robbery/Car Snatching Gang

Meanwhile, the Lagos state police command on Tuesday, January 16, paraded five suspected NITEL cable vandals and 15 suspected armed robbers in the state.

The Lagos state commissioner of police, Imohimi Edgal, while addressing the press at the state command gave an account of how a group of five men were intercepted by operatives of the Command on January 11 at Fatai Atere street Mushin, Lagos in possession of one unregistered Mack truck containing fifteen (15) pieces of cables and a mercury villager Space Wagon with registration number RSH-686-AJ containing two (2) heavy duty batteries.
