Senator Sani descries alleged disappearance of $500m recovered Abacha loot

- The $500 million reportedly recovered as part of the loots from Abacha alleged disappeared

- Shehu Sani says the disappearance shows there are magicians in government who are post-graduates in roguery

The alleged disappearance of $500 million recovered as part of the loots by late former head of state, General Sani Abacha, has forced a senator on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to declare that government is made of magicians.

Senator Shehu Sani is not happy with the report that the amount disappeared as reported earlier.

“The disappearance of $500 million recovered loot now under investigation by the EFCC confirms the presence of seasoned and experienced magicians in government.

“It also reveals the post graduate level of roguery and larceny in the system,” he said.

He however did not give suggestions on how he thinks the money could be recovered by the government.

Legit.ng earlier reported how the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) begun an investigation to uncover how over the sum of $500 million recovered from the late Gen Sani Abacha’s family was diverted.

The cash was repatriated from slush accounts of Abacha in foreign banks after hard negotiations by the federal government during the Jonathan administration.

The report said that operatives of the EFCC have discovered that the $500 million was diverted.
