Food vendors to buy presidential nomination form for Buhari

- Bauchi food vendors promised to buy nomination form for President Buhari

- The group said they were happy with his good work

- It also asked Bauchi state governor to also seek re-election

The Bauchi State Food Vendors Multi-Purpose Cooperative Union has asked President Muhammadu Buhari to declare his intention to run for presidency in 2019.

The union vowed to purchase the presidential nomination form for President Buhari so he could continue with the giant strides he is making.

The group also called on Governor Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar of Bauchi to also seek re-election.

Hajiya Kaltume Katagum who is the chairperson of the group spoke during a courtesy visit to the special assistant to Governor Abubakar on Non-Governmental Organisations ( NGOs) and Social Investment Programmes ( SIPs) ,Mansur Manu Soro.

She said: "We want the president to continue the good work he started of the fight against insecurity, improving the economy as well as Social Investment Programmes.

"The Home-Grown Schools Feeding Programme has improved our general standard of living so much that our members who never touch N5,000 in our life today receive N100,000 directly into their bank accounts. Majority of us were not priveledged to even visit bank until President Buhari came to power.”

She said their members have promised to contribute to President Buhari’s presidential campaign as a show of appreciation.

Bauchi state reportedly has 5,005 cooks feeding 501,399 pupils in 2,000 public primary schools as at November 2017.

Meanwhile, The All Progressives Congress (APC) revealed why it has not held its national convention since it assumed power in 2015.

The Nation reports that the party's spokesman, Bolaji Abdullahi, said that though the delay in holding the party’s national convention does not look good, it is in the interest of the party.
