Bauchi state government embarks on massive construction, renovation of 1,240 classes in 2 years

- The Bauchi state government is investing heavily in education

- In two years, the government has constructed and renovated 1,240 classes

- More importantly, schools destroyed by terrorist group, Boko Haram, are being rebuilt

As part of its contributions to educational development in the state, the Bauchi government is reconstructing the Government Girls Secondary School, Soro.

The school was one of the schools, attacked by terrorist group, Boko Haram in Ganjuwa local government area of the state.

The Bauchi state government is embarking on the total renovation and upgrading of the school, its classrooms, hostels, admin blocks, dining hall, laboratories and toilet facilities.

The Bauchi state governor, Mohammed Abubakar, has left no one in doubt the love he has for education.

At the moment, the state government has the highest allocation for education in Nigeria with almost 20% earmarked for the sector.

Legit.ng gathered that over 800 primary and secondary schools are being renovated and more than 600 have been newly constructed by the government under two years.

Also, more than 10,000 desks have been provided to the schools in the first batch of distribution under the state ministry of education and about 18,000 were provided under SUBEB.

To stand out, all the government's school renovation projects are seen with blue roofs and are dotted all over the state.

Prominent among the schools that have benefitted from the government's aggressive investment on educational facilities are Shadarki (A&B) primary school in Darazo local government and Special School Kafin Madaki, Ganjuwa local government.

The Bauchi state Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) vocational college is also not left out.

Legit.ng gathered that the college is tuition free and it currently has more than 170 students with an administrative block, classrooms, desks, hostels, rooms for college staffs, modern kitchen and dining hall, large standard auditorium, fully equipped workshops (wood work, tailoring, electrical, mechanical), modern toilets, ICT centre and a shuttle bus.

Recently, Governor Abubakar traveled to the Czech Republic for a working visit.

The governor visited students being sponsored by his government, interacted freely with them, listened to their complaints and the challenges they face in the country.

He assured them of swift and prompt intervention on their complains and charged them to be good ambassadors, not only for Bauchi state, but the entire nation by respecting the law and holding on to their studies assiduously.

The students are majorly studying modern agricultural methods and techniques. On completion of their studies, they will join the budding department of agriculture in Bauchi State University, Gadau to contribute their quota to state building.
