One of Senator Shehu Sani's aides, Bashir Ahmed Hamadada has been nabbed and kept from communicating with people by soldiers in Kaduna.
Hamadada, who is said to have been making critical posts on the political happenings in the state, was arrested on Tuesday, January 30, at his home in Tudun-Wada area of Kaduna metropolis in the afternoon, The Cable reports.
In his narrative of how Hamadada was arrested by soldiers, Abdulkareem Ahmed Balele, his brother, stated that the soldiers came in two Hilux vans and a BMW car.
Balele said:“The soldiers said they were sent to come and pick him. He asked them where they were taking him to, they said they were taking him to 1 Division of the Nigerian army in Kaduna.”
“When we went to the headquarters of the 1 Division to see him, they said we cannot go in because we were not booked to be allowed in.”
Balele further revealed that on Wednesday, January 31, the army transferred Hamadada to the headquarters of the Kaduna state police command and that his family and relatives were called to come and see him there.
Balele said:“He is with the police, we have seen him at the police command. We asked them the offence he has committed, but we were told that he was being investigated and he will be charged to court tomorrow.”
It was reported that Mohammed Dole, a colonel and spokesman of the I Division of the Nigerian army, did not respond to telephone calls from TheCable.
However, Aliyu Mukhtar, spokesman of the Kaduna state police command, refused to make any comment on the matter. He said that the police commissioner will address the media on the issue on Friday, February 2.
Mukhtar stated: “I am not in a position to say anything on the matter. The CP (police commissioner) will address the press on the issue tomorrow.”
Meanwhile, NAIJ.com reported that the Al-Isan women association in ward 6 of Kaduna south local government area had publicly declared its support for Uba Sani to run for the Senate in 2019, saying that Senator Shehu Sani, had failed them.
It was reported that the women made this known at a function held at the ward in the state. The group leader, Hajiya Ladidi Abubakar declared that their association was not a political union, adding that they only worked and supported the senator in the last election.
