- Senator Bruce said Ortom has no business still being a member of the ruling party
Senator Ben Murray-Bruce has carpeted the All Progressives Congress (APC) accusing the ruling party of abandoning Governor Samuel Ortom and the people of Benue state during the herdsmen crisis in the state.
The senator, representing Bayelsa East constituency, in a couple of tweets said Governor Ortom has no business being in the APC as it seems his party has abandoned him and the victims of benue state.
He tweeted: “What is Governor Ortom still doing in the APC? Benue and Ortom don’t belong in the APC? Has the APC President visited him to condole with the state?
“How many APC Governors have contributed to help the victims? What benefit has Ortom and Benue derived from voting for the President?”

The Ekiti state governor gave the advice on Thursday, February 8 when he led a delegation of his cabinet members to condole with Ortom over the New Year killing of 73 citizens in Benue state.
Fayose who urged Ortom to move to another party alleged that the APC at the national level had abandoned Ortom at the time he needed them.
