Following the death of Ghanaian singer Ebony Reigns, reports have it that the soldier who accompanied the late singer actually applied for a sick leave from work before embarking on the journey.
It was also gathered that the soldier acted against the rules of the army, especially when he wore his uniform for an unofficial duty.
The late soldier was an Air-force Lance Corporal. He never informed his superiors of where or what he was going to be engaged with.
News has it that the deceased soldier will be court marshaled and sentenced to 40 days in the military guardroom. This means the body of the deceased soldier will be detained for 40 days before being handed over to his family. Also, the bereaved family could be denied his benefits.
The fatal accident of the music star has been linked to a heap of sand which was stationed just at the road path where Ebony and her crew were plying. In an attempt to swerve the heap of sand, the Jeep carrying all three passengers crashed into a VIP bus leading to the immediate death of the singer.
So far, the bodies of Ebony, the soldier and another man are at Mankranso Hospital. As investigations are ongoing.
