A faction of APC members in Oyo state have protested against alleged imposition of candidates by Governor Abiola Ajimobi and his loyalist.
Premium Times reports that the protest which took place at the state secretariat of the party in Ibadan was organised by a faction of the party loyal to a former governor of the state, Lam Adesina.
The aggrieved members were said to be opposed to a reported plan by the Oyo state governor to impose party candidates in the coming council polls.

The party in the state is said to be divided into two major divisions, tagged the Lamists and the Senaco loyalists.
The Lamists, it is said, are the faction of the late former governor of the state, Lam Adesina, while the Senaco supporters are said to be loyalists of Ajimobi.
Meanwhile, Bukola Saraki, president of the Senate, has called on all aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers state, to reconcile and embrace peace.
According to Daily Trust, Saraki made his comments at the victory thanksgiving reception for Senator Magnus Abe in Port-Harcourt.

Also in attendance at the event were Governors Rochas Okorocha and Nyesom Wike of Imo and Rivers states respectively.
