Paris Saint Germain manager Unai Emery says he wants to keep his Brazil forward Neymar at the French capital.

The 25-year-old, who dumped Barcelona last summer for the French Ligue 1 giants in a world record fee valued at €222 million, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in a swap-deal which could see Cristiano Ronaldo join the Parisians later this year.

And the former Sevilla handler says he is delighted to have the Brazilian in his squad as both sides prepare for the first leg of their Uefa Champions League round of 16 clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Valentine’s day.

"Well, this can be a difficult question to ask or an easy one, depending on how you look at it or how I want to answer it.

"I'm delighted to have Neymar," Emery said.

Being tagged one of the favourites to win this season’s edition of the Uefa elite competition, Emery is hoping his side can avoid the costly error that forced them out of the tournament at the stage last season.

Following their 6-1 thrashing to the Blaugrana in the second leg after their 4-0 win in the first leg at Parc Des Princess.

The manager said his team had spoken about that experience, but feels they are better prepared this campaign as they continued to search for their first major European title, having won a number of Ligue 1 titles among other domestic titles.

"Maybe the preparation already started after that game as we wanted to get something positive out of that experience," he said.

"We've spoken about that game briefly but very straight to the point, every bad experience gives you the chance to learn a lot.

"I think we're better prepared now and, regardless as to whether we win or lose, I think this team is ready to compete at this level and against the best team."

Neymar joined the Parisians after spending four years with Barcelona in the current world record in the tunes of €222 million.

He scored 68 goals in 123 matches for the Blaugrana and won one champions league title, two La Liga's and three Copa del Rey titles in his reign at the club.

The 25-year-old also has one Fifa club world cup to his credit, which he won in 2015.
