Fuel scarcity: 5 ships laden with petroleum products, other commodities arrive Lagos

- Amidst the ongoing fuel scarcity, five ships laden with petroleum products and other commodities have arrived at ports in Lagos

- One of the ships is carrying fuel; while others bear diesel, fertilizer and other products

- Between now and February 26, 41 other ships are expected to arrive bearing petrol, diesel, buck wheat, containers, general cargoes, base oil, others

The Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) says five ships laden with various products are waiting to berth at Lagos ports.

The authority said this in its daily “Shipping Position” made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday, February 14, in Lagos.

Legit.ng gathers that it said that one of the vessels was carrying petrol, while two other ships would berth with bulk fertiliser, empty container and diesel.

The NPA said that 41 other ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods were expected at Apapa and Tin-Can Island ports between February 14 and February 26.

“The expected ships are carrying buck wheat, containers, general cargoes, base oil, container, bulk sugar, chemical bag, empty container, frozen fish, ethanol, diesel and petrol," it said.

Recall that Legit.ng previously reported that 29 ships laden with petroleum products, food items and other goods were expected to arrive Apapa and Tin Can Island Ports in Lagos from February 5 to February 24.

The Nigerian Ports Authority said six of the expected 29 ships would sail in with petrol; and that other ships contained buck fertiliser, bulk sugar, empty containers, aviation fuel, bulk gypsum and containers laden with goods.
