The president of the United States of America, Donald Trump, has endorsed arming teachers to protect pupils and students from school shootings. He said arming the teachers could also prevent school shootings in the US, BBC reports.

During a plea session participated by students, teachers and families in the executive mansion's state dining room, Trump said: "It's not going to be talk like it's been in the past. If you had a teacher who was adept at firearms ... they could very well end the attack very quickly."

Trump also noted that the teachers, who would have guns concealed on them would go for special training and there would no longer be any gun-free zones in schools.
