PDP to give all female aspirants free forms for Kaduna LG polls
- The Kaduna state chapter of the PDP has promised to give free forms to all female aspirants in the local government polls
- The party said the free forms will increase female participation in the forthcoming polls in Kaduna
- The election has been scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 12, by the electoral commission
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has assured all female aspirants for the Kaduna state local government election free forms to contest.
The state chapter of the party, however, said aspirants for councillorship shall pay; N30,000 for nomination form and N5,000 for expression of interest.
Also, the chairmanship aspirant in the party are expected to pay N100,000 for their nomination form and N25,000 for expression of interest.

Premium Times reports that the Kaduna PDP in a statement signed by Abraham Catoh said the delegates for the councillorship primaries are statutory delegates as required by the party's constitution.
Catoh also said that, "all local government party excos, all eard excos, three ad-hoc delegates per polling unit (booth) to be elected by the party stakeholders of each polling unit (booth) on the date as announced by the party."
He said those expected to conduct the primaries for chairmanship position include: all statutory delegates, local government party excos, ward excos, and three ad-hoc delegates from each ward.

Others involved are all former party chairmen who are still members of the party, former state working committee members who are still members of the party and former council chairmen who are still members of the party.
The election has been scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 12, by the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIECON).
Legit.ng earlier reported that Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso had alleged that there was underage voting in the just concluded Kano state local government polls.

Kwankwaso also claimed there was no election in Kano state due to the limited numbers of political parties whcich showed interest and participated in the election.
Claiming the the Kano election was rigged, the Senator said, that would not have been possible if many parties contested for various positions at the poll.
