Pro-APC campaign leader in Bayelsa kidnapped by unknown men - Police

The police command in Bayelsa on Tuesday, February 27, confirmed the abduction of Robert Desmond, who is the chief executive officer of a pro-All Progressive Congress (APC), campaign group known as the 'New Face.'
DSP Asimin Butswat, the spokesman of the command, who confirmed the kidnap, said in Yenagoa that the police had begun investigation to discover and arrest Demond's kidnappers, the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reports.

A witness, Mike Perekiye, revealed to newsmen that the victim, who was also an APC supporter in the state, was abducted on Saturday, February 24, after an event in Nembe local government area. Victor Isaiah, the caretaker chairman, Brass local council, condemned the act. Isaiah described thr development as an act of wickedness mankind.

He urged security officials to do their best to recover the victim unharmed. He also asked the public to supply the police with useful information that could hasten the safe release of Desmond.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng reported that some gunmen suspected to be armed robbers attacked the home of a former acting governor of Bayelsa state, Wenipreye Seibarugu.
Seibarugu, who confirmed the incident to journalists in the state capital, Yenagoa on Tuesday, August 8, described the incident as 'worrisome and outrageous'.
