Troops recover weapons at Kwesati and Tati villages in Taraba

- The Nigerian army recovered some weapons in its ongoing Exercise Cat Race

- Cordon and search operations have been part of the exercise which has been largely successful so far

Sequel to the on going Exercise Ayam Akptuma (Cat Race), Nigerian troops continue to make progress.

Legit.ng gathered that the troops have recovered locally made weapons in some villages in Taraba state.

The recovery was made during a conduct of cordon and search operations at Kwesati and Tati villages across Ussa and Takum local government areas of the state.

During the process of the condon and search,the alerted troops recovered 5 weapons and have been back loaded. Troops continue to make progress as the exercise proceeds at pace,” a statement by the director, army public relations, Brigadier General Texas Chukwu, said.

Similarly, some guns, spears and arrows were recovered during the Exercise Cat Race in Adamawa state.

The army also warned residents to be wary of herdsmen who might want to seek refuge in their places, stressing that they may be fleeing from troops.

Meanwhile, the Middle Belt Patriotic Assembly has said that the ongoing military exercise is Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa and Taraba is already yielding results.

The group during a press conference in Lafia, Nasarawa state capital city on Wednesday, February 28, said the exercise in a short space of time is yielding good results.
