It is no longer news that Nigerians have been up and about on the issue of tithing in churches. This issue became so topical that top Nigerian pastors have come out and shed more light but some people still do not see the need to pay tithe.
The senior pastor of Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi, has come out to shed more light on the issue on tithing. The man of God disclosed that paying of tithe is not by force.
Pastor Adeyemi did not stop there but further revealed that there are no more curses attached to non-payment of tithes as it has expired in the Old Testament.
The man of God said this while addressing his congregation on Sunday, February 25.
Pastor Adeyemi said: “Since we are under a new covenant, giving is a choice. Everyone should decide the percentage they want to pay with the knowledge that you will be blessed based on how you give.”
NAIJ.com earlier reported that Pastor Tunde Bakare weighed in on the controversial debate and shared his opinion on the tithe matter. Speaking to BBC Yoruba, the head pastor of Latter Rain Assembly stressed that tithing is not compulsory.
