According to Binani, her decision to contest for the Senate in 2019 was informed by the pressure she had been receiving from her supporters. She stated that she wanted to provide democratic ideals to the people.

In her words: “We are here today not for speech making or campaign but simply to register our intention to the party as an aspirant for Adamawa Central senatorial seat in 2019 elections, Insha Allah.

“Many of our supporters from central zone and from Mubi, Ganye,Jada and Toungo in opposition parties such as PDM, Mega Party, Green Party and some from PDP are formally decamping to the APC today."

Binani was received at the secretariat by the APC’s acting chairman in the state, Ibrahim Bilal, who described the declaration as added value to the party, with respect to her track record at the House of Reps.

He urged all new entrants in the state to go to their wards and register, so as to enjoy all benefits and privileges accorded to old party members.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that while speaking with reporters in Abuja, APC National Chairman Chief John Odigie-Oyegun spoke extensively on what he called the damage the PDP did to Nigeria and its economy during their 16 years of rule.

Oyegun went further to explain that the APC actually knew what was ahead of it when President Buhari assumed power; contrary to what a cross-section of Nigerians believed.

He said Nigerians need to commend the APC-led federal government for doing everything humanly possible to sustain the economy and save it from total collapse.
