Mariam Majala Kajasha alias Chimami a student at Tombe Girls High School in Nyamira County of Kenya was reported missing on Tuesday, March 6 after she failed to report to school.
It is understood Mariam who had just joined Form one, was supposed to embark on the bus back to school journey from Railways bus terminus in the company of her classmates.
According to the mother, Mauryn Kajode, she was called by the school to inform her that Mariam had not yet reported to school. It is not yet clear whether she boarded the bus in the first place.
The matter has since been reported at Central Police Station and eyes are on the look out for the young girl who might be in harms way right now.
The 16-year-old hails from Mombasa and speaks both English and Swahili with a coastal accent. Her desperate mom has described her as a big bodied girl.
Anyone with information about her whereabout is being asked to report to the nearest police station.
