Atletico Madrid defender Felipe Luis has reportedly been ruled out of Brazil squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup tournament in Russia this summer.
The former Chelsea left back suffered a fractured fibula in his side’s 5-1 win over Lokomotiv Moscow on Thursday, March 15, in the Europa League round of 16 second leg clash at the Emirates Stadium.
Though his return date is yet to be known at the moment, the 32-year-old defender could also miss Los Colchoneros’ entire preseason ahead of the 2018-19 league campaign according to the Sun.

He was said to have received a thunderous kick to the calf after trying to block Eder's shot, and was immediately carried out having failed to leave the pitch unaided.
Luis injury will be a major blow to Atletico Madrid manager, Diego Simeone and Brazil coach Tite, who is a key player for their various squads.

The Brazilian joined Rojiblancos in 2010 and was part of the team that won the La Liga title and also reached the Champions League final in 2014.
He has also won the UEFA Europa League and a UEFA Super Cup in the 2011-12 season, while he reached the final of the Champions League in 2014 but lost to city rivals, Real Madrid.
The former Ajax player has scored five goals in 83 appearances since he returned to Spain in 2015, after a disappoint season with Chelsea.
