Floyd Mayweather claims he could buy Newcastle United

- Floyd Mayweather has made a bizarre claim that he could by Newcastle United

- The 41-year-old wants to bring Ronaldo back to England if it happens

Retired American boxer Floyd Mayweather is one of the most blessed athletes in the world considering the fortunes he has made in the game of boxing.

The 41-year-old has many cars, private jets, lives in big mansion in America and hardly is there anything that he won't get if he wants.

But Floyd Mayweather has now made an unusual claim that he could buy Premier League club Newcastle United and bring Cristiano Ronaldo back to England.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the world's best footballer and plays for Spanish champions Real Madrid. He joined Los Blancos from Manchester United in 2009/10 season.

Newcastle are said to have been looking for new ownership for some time with Mike Ashley in long-drawn negotiations with a consortium headed by Amanda Staveley.

''You better believe if I were to invest in I would be back partying there often.

''I love Newcastle, those guys like to party as hard as any city I have been to anywhere in the world.

''I met some of the players last year and they are good guys. I am always open to new business opportunities and I love all sports, but I invest with my head not my heart.

''Cristiano Ronaldo has been a long-time supporter and buddy of mine, so I might even be able to get him to finish his career off at Newcastle,'' the boxing icon recently stated as reported by the Star on Sunday, via 101greatgoals.

Should Floyd Mayweather buy Newcastle United, then Cristiano Ronaldo might be tempted to return to the Premier League considering the fact that he has won everything in football.

The only title yet to be won by the former Manchester United star is the FIFA World Cup and he has the chance of winning it with Portugal this year in Russia.
