Wind blew drug into my handbag - Woman tells police

- An American woman Kennecia Posey has blamed wind for the illicit drug found in her possession after she was arrested by the police

- The police also found separate bags found on Posey's lap

- She later admitted ownership of the drug after interrogation

Emerging reports have it that an American woman has attributed wind to the drug found in her possession.

According to a news report by ABC local affiliate, police arrested Kennecia Posey following a stop in Fort Pierce, Florida, on March 21.

The report cited police extract of the case as stating that an officer approached Ms Posey’s car and smelled an odor of illicit medicine coming from inside.

But as the officer searched further, a purse containing drug in separate bags was found on her lap.

Ms Posey, 26, admitted ownership of the illicit medicine, but had an interesting excuse for the illicit medicine.

She said: ''I don’t know anything about any illicit medicine. It’s a windy day. It must have flown through the window and into my purse.”

Ms Posey was booked into the county jail on one felony count of illicit medicine possession and a misdemeanor count of illicit medicine possession, ABC reported. She was later released on bond.

Meanwhile, NAIJ.com had reported that President Muhammadu Buhari instructed law enforcement agencies to deal decisively with those who import distribute and sell illicit medicine.

Buhari on Thursday, December 7, made this known in Kano state during the course of his two-day visit to the state.

According to a statement by the senior special assistant on media and publicity Garba Shehu, “The customs is already doing a good job and I’m happy that I got someone who is efficient, strong and trusted to lead it in the person of Hameed Ali, a former governor of Kaduna state.
