Pictures show how corpses are being transported to and from the mortuary in DR Congo

Is there a proper way to transport corpses to and from the mortuary? Is it considered as disrespectful if they are not transported in in a way people consider proper?

In rural parts of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) corpses are being transported by commercial motorcycle riders to and from the morgue. The corpses are reportedly tied like a luggage on the motorcycles.

Photos of the corpses being transported were shared by a Facebook user. The user identified as PK Kasrim shared photos of a corpse wrapped in green ankara and black wire to keep the body fixed on the motorcycle.

PK Kasirim revealed that the motorcycle riders use the transport of corpse as source of additional profit.

The Facebook user stated that the corpse transportation earn a lot from the corpse transport business.

He said: "This is how "boda boda" riders in parts of rural DR Congo transport corpse to and from the mortuary. It's a lucrative business to venture as it pays handsomely well. Tricky sana."
