Kano APC urges Nigerians not to give PDP another chance

- The deputy chairman of the Kano state chapter of the APC, Alhaji Shehu Maigari, says Nigerians have enough reasons not to vote the PDP in subsequent elections

- He states that the mistakes of the opposition party are too costly to be forgotten and forgiven by Nigerians

- According to him, the party that spent 16 years committing mistakes will never get it right

The Kano state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Nigerians not to vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in coming elections.

The deputy chairman of the APC in Kano state, Alhaji Shehu Maigari, told Daily Trust on Monday, April 9, that Nigerians have enough reasons not to vote the PDP in subsequent elections.

The APC chieftain said the recent apologies by the national chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus, and the recent statement attributed to a former Sokoto state governor, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, that God was punishing PDP for its sins, were enough reasons for Nigerians to remain far away from the PDP.

Maigari said Nigerians should be grateful to God for compelling the two leaders to reveal the truth. He said it was a good omen that people that committed the mistakes had started confessing.

“How can people spend 16 years committing mistakes and yet they cannot realise it until when the opportunity they are enjoying gets lost? Had it been the PDP was opportuned to return to power in 2015, the so-called mistakes will never be realised and the nation will continue to be in a mess.

“As far as APC Kano is concerned, the party that spent 16 years committing mistakes will never get it right even if it is allowed to govern the country for 60 years. Therefore, the so-called mistakes committed by the PDP are too costly to be forgotten and forgiven by Nigerians,” he said.

Meanwhile, no fewer than 2,000 people defected from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kano state.

Leadership reports that the APC members defection to PDP took place in Sumaila local government area of Kano state.

It was gathered that the former members of the APC were all received by an ex-governor of Kano state Ibrahim Shekarau, Aminu Wali and Gambo Salau.

The defectors led by Surajo Kanawa accused the ruling party of allowing the senior special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly matters, Abdulrahman Sumaila, to run the APC like his empire.
