- French defender Samuel Umtiti is yet to agree a new deal with his Spanish League clubside, Barcelona
- The 24-year-old has a deal with the Catalan club until the summer of 2021 having joined them from Lille in 2016
- However, 3 top Premier League club sides will be happy to hand the 24-year-old a bumper deal if he joins them this summer
Barcelona defender Samuel Umtiti has reportedly informed his teammate, Gerard Pique of his proposed summer move to the Premier League.
The France international has been tipped with a move to join Manchester United this summer in a bid to earn more money compared to what he currently earns at the Camp Nou.
Having sealed a five-year deal with the Catalan club in 2016 in a deal worth €25 million, the defender has been superb for the Spanish League campaigners, and will add value to any team that signs him.
However, Barca are willing to take their chances after revealing the release clause of the player (€60 million) – a fee that has attracted a couple of European clubs this season.
According to Spanish publication Diario Gol claim Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City are also interested in landing the 24-year-old at the end of this season.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is also claimed to be looking towards signing the defender, but a deal is unlikely to materialise.
The current Spanish league leaders are said to be preparing to offer the Frenchman a new deal in a bid to prevent him from going, while they increase the value of his release clause but talks have hit the wall.
Nou Camp chiefs are unwilling to meet the 24-year-old's demands to triple his his €3m-per-season deal (£2.61m).
Meanwhile, Diario Gol believe Premier League clubs are willing to trigger Umtiti’s release clause while they offer him a bumper deal to switch sides.
Reports in Spain revealed that the Spanish League side have made his contract renewal their top priority, but Spanish journalist, Guillem Balague claims the defender will gladly join United if Barcelona fail to meet his demands.
Balague said: “You saw him kissing the Barca badge against Roma; the agents have left it all very clear. Unless they triple his wages, he will move.
“And within a month of that, Umtiti, who knows Manchester United want him and are willing to pay, will have to make a decision.
“Umtiti knows what Man United will pay, and Barcelona will not pay what his agents demand, that’s where we stand at the moment.”
The former Lyon ace has established himself as one of Europe’s top centre-backs since joining Barcelona in 2016.
Despite the fevered speculation about his future, Umtiti has insisted he is solely focusing on playing football.
"I have nothing much else to say," he said. "I just stick to playing and doing well on the pitch.
"That is the most important thing for me. That is what I will keep trying to do.
"The rest are things that come out in the press - some true, some false - but I focus on football."
Meanwhile, Barcelona are reportedly making plans to sign RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano for £87m (€100m) as a potential replacement for Umtiti.
